Best All-Rounder in IPL


The well-off Indian Premier League has given a surfeit of chances and an immense platform for players to prove their talents. It is a blessing for any team to have both the combination that of a great batsman and a bowler in one player, that’s when all-rounders come into play.

Here is a list of the top 5 best all-rounders of all time in the IPL.


#5) Kieron Pollard (2755 Runs, 56 Wickets)


Kieron Pollard, one of the very important Mumbai Indians’ all-rounders. Since the commencement of IPL all the way back in 2010, he has been a core part of the Mumbai franchise only and has never played for any team in the IPL. Pollard who is one of the most faithful soldiers of the Blues has displayed extraordinary knocks with his bat and also by winning matches with his bowling endeavor during the deaths.

In 148 matches played for the squad, Pollard has a score of 2,755 runs and a strike rate of over 146. Pollard has taken 56 wickets in his bowling journey with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

#4) Jacques Kallis (2427 Runs, 65 Wickets)


Jacques Kallis, known to be one of the most impactful players in the IPL history and one of the most well-known South African all-rounder. Though he was able to play only seven editions (2008-14) of the IPL before bidding goodbye to cricket he was able to write records. While playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), at an average of 28.55 he scored a total of 2,427 runs.

Coming to his bowling, Kallis took 65 wickets with his best piece being 3/13. Scoring a total of 407 runs and taking 15 wickets, Kallis was the spine of KKR during their title victory in IPL 2012.

As per his IPL stats, Pollard gets the fourth position in IPL best all-rounders list.


#3) Ravindra Jadeja (1927 Runs and 108 Wickets)


Since the beginning of the IPL, Ravindra Jadeja is known to be a part of the winning streak. Diverting the game according to the situation in the match and being a team player all the time is the greatest gift of Jadeja’s IPL career.

Jadeja, who was an element of the Rajasthan Royals‘ first IPL title, later became a critical part of CSK’s lower middle-order batsman, all courteousness to his immense hitting abilities and a crafty left-arm, spinning precision. So far he has taken 108 wickets, which includes a rare 5-wicket haul, along with his immense 1,927 runs at a strike rate of over 122.

As per his IPL stats, Jadeja gets the third position in IPL best all-rounders list.


#2) Dwayne Bravo (1483 Runs and 147 Wickets)


Dwayne Bravo, during a range of critical situations, has come out to be the most productive player for Chennai Super Kings. Bravo, who has been a very important part of the Yellow brigade since 2011, is undoubtedly one of the best bowlers in the tournament and a volatile middle-order batsman with ultimate hitting power.

Bravo who has taken 147 wickets so far in IPL along with 1,483 runs in 134 matches is a master in death bowling and tricky situations.

#1) Shane Watson ( 3575 Runs and 92 Wickets)


This Australian is an extremely talented and high rated all-rounder in the IPL. He has continued to be a priceless asset for the teams he has played in. Watson has been a part of the IPL all the way from the inception of it and has showcased his excellent performance with both bat and ball.

Presently a part of CSK, Shane Watson has played 134 matches across all the seasons in the tournament and has 3,575 runs and has taken 92 wickets. He 4 centuries, 19 fifties to his name and with decent bowling figures he has been a standout all-rounder in the IPL.
