#5) AB de Villiers (43 Balls, RCB vs GL in 2016)


Batting first, with Chris Gayle leaving for six, RCB was abridged to 19/1 in the fourth over, From there, with the South African batsman reaching his century in 43 balls, both de Villiers and Kohli notched up hundreds.

AB De Villiers stayed victorious on 129 as RCB posted 248/3 and defeated GL by 144 runs. This match was witnessed for the highest margin of a win by runs ever.

#4) Adam Gilchrist (42 Balls, DC vs MI in 2008)


Adam Gilchrist unlocked the innings with his captain, VVS Laxman and MI had put DC a target of 155. With eight overs to spare Gilchrist’s 42-ball century comprising 9 fours and 10 sixes, which guided his side to a 10-wicket victory.

For an otherwise unfortunate franchise, the Australian wicket-keeper-batsman was the single bright spot.

#3) David Miller (38 Balls, KXIP vs RCB in 2013)


It was an away game against Kings XI Punjab for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013. Captain Virat Kohli’s blunder of dropping a catch during this match proved to be costly for the team and allowed David Miller to score an unbelievable hundred off just 38 balls.

Miller was housing a fifth-wicket partnership with Rajagopal Sathish. Miller skied a Vinay Kumar delivery in the fourteenth over and on its way down, the ball burst through Kohli’s slick hands. KXIP had won the match by four wickets, four overs later.

#2) Yusuf Pathan (37 Balls, RR vs MI in 2010)


It was the match two of IPL 2010. Yusuf Pathan was batting in the middle with Paras Dogra when Rajasthan Royals needed 143 runs to win from 57 balls alongside Mumbai Indians.

RR had six wickets in hand and in order to avoid a humiliating loss, a miracle needed to happen. And it indeed happened! Pathan changed gears and attained 54 off the next 11 balls he faced. And finally chased off to a century with just 37 deliveries, the fastest at that time.

#1) Chris Gayle (30 Balls, RCB vs PWI in 2013)


When Chris Gayle’s century off just 30 balls took center stage on a match against PWI in the 2013 IPL, numerous records shattered. He finished the match with 175 off 66 balls and this hundred is the fastest ever in professional cricket.

The West Indian superstar lead RCB to 263/5 in 20 overs which is the highest total in Twenty20 (T20) cricket and the record total for the IPL back then. Gayle hit 17 easy sixes which is also the most by a batsman in a single T20 innings.
