Although it is the balance of the team that is the reason behind CSK’s success, CSK batting has never failed to showcase their skills and power. It might come as a coincidence that all the highest score put up by CSK has come batting first. CSK is successful in lifting the IPL title 3 times until now.

#5) CSK vs DD (211/4)
This was the comeback year for CSK as they had suffered a 2-year ban in the IPL. There were huge hopes on them coming into the tournament and they did not let that drop as they were the champions that year.
Coming to this match it was a clinical performance by them as Shane Watson scored a brilliant 78 at the top and MS Dhoni finishing off well with a half-century in his usual style. Despite the heroic efforts of Rishabh Pant and Vijay Shankar Delhi lost the match by 13 runs.
#4) CSK vs DD (222/5)
It was again Murali Vijay who stole the show by scoring 113 runs off just 58 deliveries which included 15 fours and 4 sixes. Despite Mahela Jayawardene’s efforts Delhi could not get really going and was all out for a mere 136 runs and lost the match by a huge margin of 86 runs.
Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers by taking 3 wickets at Chennai.
#3) CSK vs SRH (223/5)
This time around it was the ever consistent Suresh Raina who fell 1 run short for his well deserved century in the year 2013 at Hyderabad.
In reply, Sunrisers Hyderabad never looked in the game from the start of the innings as the wickets tumbled regularly. CSK ended up winning the match by 77 runs.
#2) CSK vs KXIP (240/5)
It was in the opening edition of the IPL where David Hussey showed his class to score an important century to his team in just 54 balls which helped them to put up a mammoth total of 240 runs on board.
In reply, Kings XI Punjab had a good opening partnership with Goel and James Hopes to score 24 and 71 runs respectively but was out of the game after the 2nd wicket partnership was broken. CSK ended up winning the match by 33 runs at Mohali.
#1) CSK vs RR (246/5)
The in-form Murali Vijay tore apart the Rajasthan Royals bowling attack by scoring 127 runs off just 56 balls with an astonishing strike rate of 226.78. Although Rajasthan started things well, it was only for a while until the debutant Doug Bollinger picked up 2 wickets and made sure to keep Chennai’s hope alive of reaching the semi-finals.
CSK had put up a good show in front of their home crowd and ended up winning with a margin of 23 runs.
