Mumbai Indians Team Squad 2021

The richest and glamorous league is back and will be back with a bang when two sides, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians go head to head at M.A Chidambaram Stadium on Friday. The league is all set to kick start from 9th April amid the pandemic restrictions. Though the league is all set to be held in India, the games will be held behind closed doors as the cases are rising exponentially.

Mumbai Indians have been one of the top sides in the league. They are the only side that has won the league five times and have won under the same captain, Rohit Sharma. His team was known for winning the title in odd years like 2013,2015, 2017,2019 but they changed the pattern by winning the league in 2020 too. Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals comprehensively to lift the title in UAE.

Mumbai Indians Team Squad: Analysis of the past

The Mumbai-based outfit has one of the settled sides in the Indian Premier League. They had the perfect mixture of youth and senior players who can win the crucial games in crucial moments. The previous year, every player comprehensively contributed to them and was able to seal the deal in the finals on 10th November.

Mumbai Indians Team Squad: Changes this year

After having a settled side, the team management didn’t tinker much ahead of the mini-auction. The team kept most of the squad some and have added few players to their line-up which makes them again indisposable. Mumbai Indians have bought Adam Milne and Nathan Coulter Nile in the auction for strengthening the pace department whereas they have added Piyush Chawla to their line up to keep Rahul Chahar on his toes. Moreover, they have added Arjun Tendulkar to their ranks who can expect a few matches as well to boost his confidence. Also, they have bought Kiwi-all rounder Jimmy Neesham who can fill the place of Keiron Pollard if he is injured/unfit for the game in the ongoing season.

Mumbai Indians have been a side to defeat in the league for the past two-three years. This has been the combined result of team management’s planning and efforts, Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, and individual yet team contribution of the players. However, this will be the last Indian Premier League season for the players in the same colors as they will undergo a complete overhaul in the upcoming edition of the IPL. Keeping that in mind, Mumbai Indians will look to win the league for the third time on the road before saying goodbye at the end of the tournament. It remains interesting to see how the side fares in 2021.
